David Newman, the team’s senior vice president, marketing and communications, will be leaving the Mets after the season, according to sources. Newman has held the position since 2005.I’ve met Dave a few times through the last decade or so. He seemed like he wanted what was best for the team and even tried to get a certain fan fest run by the fans into Citi Field at one point. If you are leaving the Mets Dave, good luck in your future endeavors.
