Mets Opening Day 2026

Mets Home Opening Day 2026. What we Mets fans always expect this time of the year. Mets will be a good team. The Mets will be a fun team to watch. The Mets will make the playoffs. The Mets will win the World Series. We didn't get any of that last season. The front office made changes to the team and whether your favorite player is gone from the team or not, change had to be done. Let's see who become our new faves.
I go into this season as I do every year with a mental clear slate for the team. Last season is done with and it's time to move on and restart the push for a championship. It is time to reconnect with fellow fans who we haven't seen since the last game of last season or at the Queens Baseball Convention. This is a Mets reboot and this is my positive part of the post.
Here is the negative part. The parking is going to suuuuuuuuuuuuuck. Construction has already started for the parking structures and the casino. Expect a lot of delays getting into the ballpark and that you might not get a parking spot if you don't prepay for a spot. I kind of expect the parking to get pushed over to Flushing Meadows. Take public transit if you can, the next few years are going to blooooooow for parking .
That being said, LETS GO METS!!! Everyone have a great Opening Day.

For me I see a few things wrong with this. The whole challenge started by fans in other ballparks and then adopted by actual team concession stands were for full hot dogs and full beers and not what looks like shrunk down versions of the beer and the dogs. I can only imagine what they want to charge for this. I guess they are hoping 2-3 fans split this and buy a few of these during the game between each other.
My other problem with this is promoting heavy drinking. Even though this is a appears to be smaller serving versions of what they sell beer wise, you know there is going to be some knucklehead that tries to do two or three of these boxes during the game just to show off. Do I have anything against folks enjoying adult beverages? Nope. But in moderation is the key.
Oh well. Let's see how this goes.

New in 2026: Drive to your local mall, park your car, and leave the rest of the drive to us
A new Citi Field Direct Shuttle service will operate from designated off-site parking areas on Long Island, New Jersey, and Bronx/Westchester, offering convenient, comfortable, and low-cost coach bus rides directly to Citi Field.
All shuttles are comfortable and climate-controlled coach buses. Two buses from each location will make the trip between your location and the Citi Field Bus Lot, just a short walk from the Left Field Gate.
Purchase your shuttle bus tickets in advance for the low price of $8/person, $22/family 4-pack.
Each mall will have its own free or reduced cost Mets parking area. Factoring in traffic, buses are planned to arrive at Citi Field when gates open.
After games, all buses will leave 30 minutes after the final out.

I wonder if this is something that is going to keep up after all the construction is done in a. few years. We went from the Wilpons wanting to build two malls at Citi Field to the Mets using malls as parking to get to Citi Field.
