What were the Mediagoon.com 's viewership numbers for April?

I am sure this is mostly all bots but just in case it isn't, I am blown away by the numbers for last month. Over 1 million views. In March it was just a little under 500k. Again. I think it is mostly bots but for he four people who are legit thanks for reading this blog.

Are Mets fans spiraling out?

                                       photo made by AI

Here we go again. The Mets are Metsing. The Fans are Metsing. Sports Radio is Metsing. There are fan groups on Facebook losing their crap over the make up of the team and it is amazing. When did everyone become experts and GMs? Is it because MLB: The Show has become so realistic in GM mode that folks have come away from playing it thinking that they are GMs and know better than people paid to run teams? If you are so good at it, why are you working your current job and not in the game of baseball?

Is it Sports Radio stemming back from Mike and the Mad Dog? Where they both were really passioned about what they talked about and would get upset about NY Sports? You know before how they saw the formula of add some Jerry Springer into their broadcasts would draw numbers? Then other sports radio hosts cloned their gimmicks and then the fans thinking this is the way you react to sports? Sports Radio hosts and their call in listeners were the original twitter. All outrage to feel validated when they get aired with on air.

Is it because fans have money wrapped up online sports betting? Losing money like that would drive folks crazy too.

Is it because just like everything else entertainment wise that it is just getting too expensive to go to a game and folks don't want to waste money on a crappy product? Are they getting nickel and dimed for parking, food, drinks, tickets, and fees for all of that?

It isn't like the Mets are the Pirates, didn't spend money and try to put together a winner. They parts that they put together for Super yacht seemed to be mismatched and the engine isn't going to work right until something is done.

Am I going to bang down the door right now to go see games live? Nope. But I do have my tickets that I have already purchased and will be going to those games.  I am not boycotting the team. This isn't like the Wilpons owning the team and they didn't have the money to put back into the team. There are other reasons to not want to go to games though.

The parking situations sucks. It is going to suck for a few years. It might end up sucking for the rest of the time that the Mets are still on Earth and don't move to Mercury. I am going to continue watching clips(can't call them highlights the way the Mets are playing) and try to enjoy going to games with family and friends when I have tickets.

Remember being a fan of anything is not that serious. You can stop watching without making announcements about it.

Media Goon's 50th Birthday at Create A Pro Wrestling

"Media Goon turned 50 this year and to celebrate it he held his birthday party at the Create A Pro Wrestling Academy. Not only did he get to have his party there but he even got to get into the ring. There was even a surprise match from AEW former tag team/trios Champion Max Caster. If you are a wrestling fan, celebrating a special event whether you are five or fifty and love wrestling, you need to check out CAP to have your party there. Check out https://createaprowrestling.com for upcoming events and if you are interesting in booking a party for you or a loved one."

I turn 50 today. I know it's crazy that I was alive and saw the last Mets World Series Championship was when I was 10 years old. Besides throwing out a first pitch eleven years ago at Citi Field this was another bucket list thing for me to do. I am a huge wrestling fan and to be able to have a cool moment like this was awesome. It was great having so may of my friends and family come out and hang out for my 50th. I want to thank my wife for putting up with me and letting me have some fun with this.

This shirt cracks me up. When I was a kid, yes I couldn't wait to get to Shea for an Ice Cream in a helmet. At 45 bucks though that is a little rough.

The Mets (Fans) Can't Get Any Worse, Can They?

Made with AI

Mets fans, are you okay? I am just checking in on you folks after all the Mets Fan Meltdowns. So the Mets are on a losing streak. Sure the team looks lackluster right now. Sure your fave players might not be on the team anymore. But to see some of you saying that you are going to be rooting for the Orioles, the TX Rangers, and bah gawd, the Yankees? You folks are starting to really hate your "Uncle Steve" now too. He was your lord and savior. He was the guy who had an unlimited bank account that was going to bring to you what the Wilpons weren't able to do because of them being cash strapped. You were expecting a championship within the five years that he mentioned. Now you are all treat "Uncle Steve" as if he's the black sheep of the family,. The uncle you can't stand anymore. All because he spent money and the team he had David Stearns build hasn't worked out so far.

I think I warned you guys years ago that when Steve Cohen bought the team and you folks were all Uncle Steve this and Uncle Steve that, that you would eventually be disappointed when you realize the reason why he is a billionaire is because he is a businessman. He is going to try to maximize his ROI in the team and while winning would help bring that ROI up quicker, it didn't matter what was on the field while his ultimate goal is to make money anyway he can. Welcome to the Casino planning. I have a theory that Uncle Steve had an idea for the property from when the Wilpons wanted to build two malls by Citi Field. One being in the parking lot where Metropolitan Park/Hard Rock Casino is being built. I still can't believe some of you folks thought it was being built across the street where the Wilpons are building the Soccer Stadium, a school, affordable housing, and retail establishments. You guys didn't realize this until you were being affected by the lack of parking at Citi Field now. Btw, thats just going to get worse when the casino is built.  It's almost as if you found the real life Lex Luthor.

Okay so back to my original reasoning for this post. What happened to the folks who are jumping ship who swore that they are die hards? I better not see you come back when the Mets right the ship event eventually. If you are a fan you are a fan. If you aren't a fan then you aren't.Stop being wishy washy and stop. You don't have to announce that you stopped watching. You don't have to throw tantrums. Just stop watching. Casually read the box scores. Stop making yourselves miserable. You have been a Mets fan. You should be used to the team being the Mets. When did fans become so whiny. Next you'll be trying to get a billboard together saying  SELL THE TEAM.

I am not telling you fans what to do but these are observations and suggestions by me. Do whatever you want. I just don't want to see you saying you are rooting for another team, complain about the Mets still, and then jump ship back to the Mets when they do well.

There is also a lot of infighting amongst fans on social media. Some of it is so dumb. Folks are making posts about generic things about them and blowing stuff out of proportion and all I have to say is that as someone who loves chaos is enjoying it. It shows what folks have main character syndrome and need drama.

I think some of the reasons fans have gone so crazy over the years is social media, sports talk radio, and online betting. Social media gives a voice to everyone but not everyone should have a voice. Sports talk radio just became a newer version of Jock Shock radio. they took a lot of Scott Ferrel and then amped it up to 30 and then added a lot of yelling to it. Fans think this is how they should act. The fake pissed off/annoyed yelling of those radio personalities leaked into the real world and it sucks. Online betting has made almost every pitch life and death for people because they could be winning or losing money. This is why folks get so invested in the games now because they possibly could be losing their bill money and that breeds hatred on a team.

One word of advice. If this team really makes you unhappy, step away. Find some other hobbies. Do stuff that makes you happy. Go hug a loved one. Life is too short to be miserable.

If you are a Mets fan and still want to support the team but let them know you they better play better, I brought back the old Metspolice Man Up and Play Better shirts from the Wilpon era.
