Mets: Conforto Almost Traded?
I'm not going to lie, I am not up on my Mets game yet. So, I might just be doing some half assed articles for the next few days unless there is something big. Wait..aren't all your articles half assed? Yeah, sorta....
Hey...Rumor has it Conforto was almost, sort of, kinda traded. Another rumor is I sorta, kinda, almost, didn't by a jersey.
From NJ.COM
According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, the Mets and Tigers talked about a one-for-one deal of Conforto for veteran outfielder J.D. Martinez before the Mets re-upped Yoenis Cespedes to serve as the team's right-handed hitting slugger.
The Mets seriously discussed a straight-up swap of Michael Conforto for J.D. Martinez before re-signing Cespedes but ultimately decided that one year of Martinez for Conforto wasn't enough. For a while, though, it was a real consideration.
Mets: First Base and Third Base
Hey folks should we have a pool to see who ends up playing First Base most of the season?
1-Jay Bruce
2- Lucas Duda
3- Neil Walker
4- David Wright
5 - Wilmer Flores
Let's do the same with Third Base also...
1- Wilmer Flores
2- Jose Reyes
3- Neil Walker
4- David Wright
5- Tim Tebow
Am I missing anyone?

Jerseys: Florida Fire Frogs Away Jersey
My buddy Nick aka @Mets_bro has gotten a job down in Orlando with the fire Frogs. So to support Nick in his endeavor(and my jersey habit) I bought a couple of jerseys. Here's one....
This is the away jersey. Its a sublimated style jersey. So if you were looking for that pesky twill made for the names and numbers, you are out of luck.
I do love the color on these jerseys.

Mets: Tradition Field Becomes First Data Field
FIRST DATA AND NEW YORK METS ANNOUNCE LONG-TERM NAMING RIGHTS DEAL FOR FIRST DATA FIELD
PORT ST. LUCIE, FL., FEBRUARY 23, 2017 - First Data (NYSE: FDC) and the New York Mets announced today an exclusive 10-year strategic marketing partnership for the naming rights to the Mets spring training home in Port St. Lucie. The stadium, formerly called Tradition Field, has been renamed First Data Field.
“It is an exciting time for our organization to have a world-wide leader in their field such as First Data to be our new naming rights partner,” said Mets COO Jeff Wilpon. “First Data is going to be a terrific partner of ours for years to come and we are thrilled to have their name on our stadium. All parties look forward to providing a great environment for Mets fans and the community.”
“We are proud to expand our partnership with the Mets, a world-class organization committed to winning on the diamond and providing an outstanding fan experience in the stands, whether at Citi Field or at First Data Field,” said Frank Bisignano, First Data Chairman and CEO. “While we root for the Mets under the Florida sun, our payments technology will help to power commerce for the Mets and their legion of fans.”
First Data is one of the world’s leading commerce technology companies, powering more than two trillion dollars in payment transactions for six million business locations and 4,000 financial institutions around the world. Last season, First Data sponsored the “Veteran of the Game” at each Mets home game. As part of that program, a Mets player presented the selected veteran with an American flag that had flown over Citi Field.
In 2016, First Data launched its sports and entertainment business, providing technology solutions for stadiums and arenas around the country through First Data’s Clover platform.
First Data Field seats 7,000 fans. It was built in 1988 when the Mets moved their spring training operation to Port St. Lucie. The stadium was named Thomas J. White Stadium up until 2004 when Tradition acquired the naming rights for its first time. Tradition reacquired the naming rights in 2013.
In November, the St. Lucie County Commissioners unanimously approved a new Facilities Use Agreement with the Mets to provide $55 million in renovations to First Data Field that will keep the Mets in Port St. Lucie for the next 25 years. Proposed improvements to the stadium will include an outfield boardwalk, a new entrance, new major league and minor league clubhouses, offices and locker rooms.
First Data Field will host 18 spring training games in 2017. Opening Day is February 25th vs. the Washington Nationals.
First Data Field will continue to serve as the summer home of the St. Lucie Mets, New York’s Advanced-A minor league affiliate.
About First Data
First Data (NYSE: FDC) is a global leader in commerce-enabling technology and solutions, serving approximately six million business locations and 4,000 financial institutions in more than 100 countries around the world. The company’s 24,000 owner-associates are dedicated to helping companies, from start-ups to the world’s largest corporations, conduct commerce every day by securing and processing more than 2,800 transactions per second and $2.2 trillion per year.

Jerseys: Mets New Batting Practice Jersey
I broke down and ordered one of these BP jerseys like you guys knew that I would. I am pretty meh on its design. Reminds me of a shirt and not a jersey.
Not liking a jersey having a zipper.
Nice looking twill..
New Majestic label/tag.
"Cooling" material. Help with venting and cooling.
I wore the jersey for about 20/25 mins for a earlier and I think it would annoy the hell out of me if I was taking BP or warming up and pitching. Hell, if I was just soft tossing I think it would be a pain. Def would have to push the sleeves up. Yeah, not really feeling this one at all.

Jerseys: UH OH- This Could Be Bad
Man, if teams themselves are doing stuff like this, who can we trust.....
From The Star
Here’s the sales pitch: hockey jerseys worn in action by star players with the Ontario Hockey League’s London Knights during their 2013-14 season and in the championship series.
The allegations: They’re fake.
New charges of jersey fraud are being levelled against the Knights by three hockey memorabilia collectors interviewed as part of an ongoing Star investigation into game-worn jersey authenticity.
The Knights memorabilia they purchased never saw actual ice time, according to the collectors and public records.
@Mets: Ban The Wave
Hey Mets.....
Nothing more annoying then some drunk guy/guy who wants to feel like he accomplished something in his life trying to start the wave... It's annoying. It's not fun and I am there paying to watch a game not do the wave. You guys were great and listened to the complaints of fans (me included) about people going to seats during at bats. Can we do something about this next?
From SB NATION
The Arizona Coyotes were in the middle of a thrilling game against the Anaheim Ducks on Monday night when something unacceptable happened. No, the team didn’t give up a sloppy goal or get busted for a brutal hit. It was even worse: fans in Section 112 starting doing the wave.
Luckily, the good people running the Coyotes’ Twitter account put out a crucial PSA to those in attendance at Gila River Arena:
#Yotes✔@ArizonaCoyotesAttention fans in 112: We don't do the wave here.
