I just wanted to make sure that everyone knows that QBC 2023 will be on Saturday December 2nd 2023 at Four Points Flushing by Sheraton, which is the official hotel of the Queens Baseball Convention LLC and TheMediagoon.com. It was a great venue last year and we are very happy to be able to return this year to them again! It's an easy to get to venue by public transportation and by car.

The other great thing just like last year Katch Astoria is returning as the official concessions operator for the QBC. If you are in Astoria and looking for a great restaurant or just someplace to have a drink let Bill, Roseann, Catherine, or Tommy know that the QBC sent you in there.

Our 50 taps are all brimming hard to find craft selections ranging from small local breweries to some that are well known such as Grimm, Finback, Gun Hill, Big Alice, Transmitter, Other Half, Rockaway and Barrier just to mention a few.

Our expert mixologists have intricately crafted some really unique specialty cocktails and our bar also features some great wines and top shelf liquor that you can enjoy alone or paired with any one of our delectable dishes.

QBC ‘23 News Tease

We founded the Queens Baseball Convention aka QBC 10 years ago in 2013. The years since have flown by. We keep getting bigger and better with our panels and guests. Dan and myself just got off the phone with the agent we use to get our Mets Panel Guests and we got a good one. It’s definitely someone you guys are going to want to hear some of his stories about his time with the team. I’m going to make the announcement around Labor Day Weekend. So until now and then, let the speculation run wild!!!

In Case You Missed It: Date and Location for Queens Baseball Convention 2023

I feel some folks might have missed announcement in May....

We would like to announce that we have a date and a venue for QBC 2023. This might be one of the earliest times that we have ever gotten a location and a date locked in. We also can't believe that it is going to be 10 years ago that we came up with the Queens Baseball Convention concept because the former owners of the Mets told us that Mets fans didn't want a fan fest.  Darren Meenan, Shannon Shark from Metspolice, Dan Twohig, and myself saw it way different. And we were right. With the support of our fellow Mets fans we have been able to put on events that we as fans wanted to see ourselves. We have made great strides over the years to get bigger and better. From starting off at Mcfadden's the first year not knowing if we would be able to pull it off logistically to being at Four Points Flushing being confident that we could put on another fun filled event. I personally want to thank everyone for coming out and keeping the fun rolling on.

Now for the Main Event. The 2023 QBC will be held on December 2nd 2023 at Four Points Flushing. We got so many great responses and reviews from you guys about the location that we are running it the QBC again at it. We had nothing but great dealings with them and it is such a nice spot, pretty easy to get to location and parking that we had to go back. Now it is way too early to start putting together what guests we are having but. you know us, we try to bring the former players/guests that our fellow fans want to see.

Keep your eyes here for future updates and don't forget to visit QueensBaseballConvention.com also.

Logjam at Jackie Robinson Rotunda after Mets Game for giveaway

We went from the smart move to hand out vouchers to the crowd coming into the stadium as mandated by MLB to the Mets not expecting a logjam of folks trying to get down the stairs in the Rotunda and then trying to get to the one exit that was giving out the baseball giveaway. I didn't grab a pic of it but the Mets got lucky that no one got hurt.

Mets being smart and giving out vouchers for giveaway

I could easily see a whole bunch of baseballs being tossed on the field if they gave them out before hand.

Friend of the QBC: Captain Joe Shoes gets a bendie

I've know Shoes for 10 or so years now and I am very happy to see all the stuff he's been involved in the last few years with the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast. He was a contestant on the dating game at the QBC. He's been a returning guest on The Mediagoon Show. He's a huge Mets fan and after all the pain and suffering he deserves this. I couldn't be happier for my buddy to get this figure.

Alonso Tosses Cardinals Player's First Hit Into Standa

Was this malicious? No way. Was it a brain fart as Alonso said? Yep. I don't think this is on any player on an opposite team to know that this is your first hit. Should the first base coach let an opposing player after it happens? Probably. For all the stuff that Alonso does do that I don't agree with, he totally gets a pass on this one.

Update: Brooklyn Cyclones: SAG/WGA(?) Members can get a free ticket for 8/17

This is a nice gesture by the Cyclones but they say for all Actors and writers but just say bring their SAG Union Cards to show at the box office. Problem with that the Writers are WGA and they didn't hashtag the WGA. I also noticed that other members of the film and tv industry that have also been affected by the strikes didn't get mentioned either. They're other unions within the industry that are supporting SAG/WGA and never get the mention when the strikes are mentioned. A lot of these crew members have been going through their savings since the film industry was slowed down since January. It would be nice if these other industry professionals could get a distraction from whats going on in their lives. Again. Very nice gesture by the Cyclones but I don't think a lot of the folks not in the film business knows exactly the whole story with all the other crew members.

If you are a member of SAG?WGA and are done on the picket line for the day, please go and enjoy this.

This just in. The cyclones just hit me up on their FB page and told me it’s for any IATSE Member, Theatrical Teamster, or any other union member in the film/tv biz.

Last Night Mets game was a vampire.

Quick rundown of getting to to and into Citi Field. No problems at all. No traffic. Could walk right in. Staff friendly and courteous. It was all great. Grabbed a pastrami sandwich. started watching the game. Then we got to the game. This is the second game I feel like the Mets have sucked the life out of me for the second straight games. I mean get its going to worse before it gets better. The fans you can tell feel defeated but yet there was a bigger crowd there then i thought there would be. Diaz bobblehead giveaway of course. I am looking at my remaining games and saying thank goodness I only have three left. Id on't think I could up with more than that.

Ooof the Mets..

That was two tough losses to the Braves yesterday. Besides the bad play on the field it’s starting to come out about how certain players and pitchers didn’t like each other. That there are attitudes in the clubhouse. That folks aren’t gelling. That happens. The funny thing is that a bad clubhouse can be the cause and the effect of not winning. I have been saying this whole season that this team was missing something. That it didn’t have “it”. I couldn’t put my finger on what it was but that “it” wasn’t there. Hopefully the bad cloud and negativity is going to be lifted, but it doesn’t seem that way on the field. The Mets have always been a pitching led team and right now they really don’t have the pitching depth to be that team.

Let’s go Mets in 2024. Play out the string and stop playing embarrassing games.

VAGUEST WWE/METS POST EVER

First of all Wrestlemania is like 8 months away from this game and ti doesn't say anything about what LA Knight is going to be doing there. There doesn't seem like any kind of promotion is going on. It's a few days after Summer Slam. This is baffling to me.

Mets send email to Ticket Plan Holders

Dave from over at Dave’s Mets Dugout on Facebook sent this over.

I mean it’s nice enough to feel like the Mets care about you but it’s really in my opinion a ploy to get you to keep your plan. Hope you enjoyed the new enhancements like DJ Night and right new scoreboard. I came to watch baseball not listen to DJ McLovin’.
