What Mets Players Made The All Star Game

As of  now with the over 300 million dollar payroll the Mets should have had a ton of players that made the team right? Let’s see.

Pete Alonso? Nope

Jeff McNeil? Nope

Francisco Lindor? Nope

Brett Baty? Nope

Francisco Alvarez? Nope

Sterling Marté? Nope

Brandon Nimmo? Nope

Mark Canha? Nope

Daniel Vogelbach? Nope

Max Scherzer? Nope

Justin Verlander? Nope

Kodai Senga? Nope

David Robertson? Yep

Anyone else? Nope.

So out of the starting lineup, 3/5s of the starting rotation, and the bullpen, maybe only one pitcher might make the team. This just shows you how unwatchable the team is right now. Mets fans in the past, even if their team sucked would stuff the ballots for their players. Yeesh.

Let’s see if I nail this.

Mets:Black Legacy Game

I must be really out of the loop. I haven’t heard a thing about this until today in an email. Wouldn’t this be something the Mets would be pushing more? This sounds very vague to me

In celebration of Juneteenth this year, the New York Mets will host the Milwaukee Brewers in the first “Black Legacy Game” at Citi Field on Monday, June 26. The game will honor and highlight former Black New York Mets players as well as pay tribute to significant Black historical figures.

Til Mets Do Us Part Ep 104

After the Mets get the best start of Max Scherzer's tenure in Queens, Verlander comes up short with another mediocre outing. Whether you think the Mets can turn it around this season or not, one thing remains true, they will only go as far as their two aces take them. Plus, Pete returns early, Lindor keeps climbing the RBI leaderboard, & is Tommy Pham an everyday player? Remember to subscribe & tunr notifications on, so you never miss an episode!

@Metspolice is right about this @Mets

I have been paying attention to the quantity I have dubbed “cheesy social media intern”, this being the human or AI that generates such amazing posts as “McHits” – that entity I believe to be someone at Corporate MLB as I see that style of tweet showing up in recaps of other teams.  Likely someone just working a shift and they sometimes get assigned to Mets game.

Anyway @mets – Cardinals 8, Mets 7…it’s ok.  You aren’t fooling us.

NEW YORK METS TO HOST BLOOD DRIVE JUNE 20 AT CITI FIELD

NEW YORK METS TO HOST BLOOD DRIVE

JUNE 20 AT CITI FIELD

WHAT:            The New York Mets, in partnership with New York Blood Center (NYBC), will host their annual Summer Blood Drive on Tuesday, June 20 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. in the Piazza Club at CitiField. Hospitals and patients rely upon a steady flow of volunteer donors to receive life-saving donations, but blood donations still have not returned to pre-pandemic levels. Fans donating blood will receive a voucher redeemable for two tickets to a select Mets home game in 2023 with exclusions and based on availability.

The unprecedented health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic caused a loss of more than 20,000 high school blood donations each year, as schools transitioned to remote learning and safety restrictions limited in-person gatherings. This year, NYBC expects to reach the 15,000 Mets donor mark, a landmark in their work to provide donations to those who need it.

Donors must be 16 years of age (with parental consent), weigh at least 110 lbs. and be in good health. As always, people are not eligible to donate if they’re experiencing a cold, sore throat, respiratory infection or flu-like symptoms. Additional information on donor eligibility and COVID-19 precautions is available here.

WHEN:            Tuesday, June 20

10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

WHO:              Mr. and Mrs. Met will be in attendance from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Seventh Annual Night to Take Place on June 16

FLUSHING, N.Y., June 15, 2023 – On June 16, New York Mets will celebrate the LGBTQ+ community with Pride Night at Citi Field. The seventh annual event will take place before the Mets take on the St. Louis Cardinals at 7:10 p.m. Gates will open to all fans at 5:10 p.m.

Pride Night at Citi Field is a celebration of the many New Yorkers and Mets fans from around the world who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. All night long, the Coca-Cola sign above right field will be illuminated in the colors of the Pride Rainbow flag and in-game programming will be focused on celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. A rainbow balloon wall will be installed at the top of the Jackie Robinson Rotunda to welcome fans as they enter the gates.

The Amazin’ Mets Foundation will honor SAGE during a special pregame ceremony as that night’s Community Hero. SAGE is a national advocacy and services organization that has been looking out for LGBTQ+ elders since 1978.

Matt Rogers, a comedian best known for co-hosting the podcast Las Culturistas with Bowen Yang, will throw out the first pitch. The National Anthem will be performed by Jan Sport, a drag performer who is a lifelong Mets fan and has appeared in season 12 of “RuPaul's Drag Race” and season six of “RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars.” During the seventh inning stretch, Bryan Ruby will perform “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.” Ruby, a country singer, is a founder of Proud to Be in Baseball, a non-profit organization dedicated to advocacy, education, and providing resources for the next generation of LGBTQ baseball players.

Friday night is also DJ Night at Citi Field. Ty Sunderland will be that night’s guest DJ. Sunderland, a popular DJ based in NYC, is well-known for his sets at Pride events worldwide.

Let’s see if there is any casino news by Citi Field.

Let’s check in about the NYC Casino news.

From the NY Post.

Cohen has already spent a fortune trying to make this happen: a million-dollar application fee; $69,700 to Hochul’s campaign war chest; $125,000 to the state Democratic Campaign Committee; $25,000 to the state Democratic Assembly Committee; more than $475,000 in lobbying related costs; $22,600 to disgraced ex-Lt.-Gov Brian Benjamin (talk about a bad bet).

For Hochul to be seen hobnobbing with Cohen is slimy optics, at the very least: a strong sign the gov simply doesn’t care about avoiding the appearance (at least) of corruption. ”

MLB Home Run Derby X Heading

MLB Home Run Derby X Heading to Fredericksburg and Hartford

Exciting version of Home Run Derby to make its U.S. debut in two Minor League ballparks;

MLB legends Swisher and Gomes to participate

June 12, 2023 — Major League Baseball (MLB) today announced plans to host MLB Home Run Derby X events in two Minor League Baseball stadiums in August, marking the first two activations to take place in the United States since MLB introduced Home Run Derby X last year in London, Mexico City and Seoul.

2009 American League All-Star and 2010 World Series Champion Nick Swisher and 2013 World Series Champion and 13-year MLB veteran Jonny Gomes will participate in the Hartford event. Gomes will be joined by a yet-to-be-named MLB legend for the event in Fredericksburg.

“Home Run Derby X is coming to Hartford and Fredericksburg and I can’t wait to be there to compete and to check out some of the awesome local talent,” said Gomes. “It is going to be an unbelievable couple of days with a lot of home runs! Be ready!”

In this Home Run Derby X format, co-ed teams of four (three hitters and one pitcher) go head-to-head in a three-inning game with points awarded for offense (hitting) and defense (catching) in a quick fire, non-stop, action-packed contest. The fast-paced games are roughly 30 minutes in length and offer additional scoring opportunities, inspired by gaming, available through Target Hits and Hot Streaks.

Members of the public with baseball and softball experience are encouraged to apply for an opportunity to participate in a Draft Day prior to each event, out of which eight men and women will be selected by MLB and Softball Legends to join their teams in a public Home Run Derby X event the next evening. Teams will compete for a cash prize as fans watch under the lights at Hartford’s Dunkin’ Park on August 11 and Fredericksburg’s Virginia Credit Union Stadium on August 26.

“We are pleased to bring this new and exciting version of baseball to our fan base here in the United States and we think fans will find the action entertaining, while also getting a chance to see their baseball heroes compete alongside hometown players in a competitive environment,” said Casey Brett, MLB’s Senior Vice President, Business Development. “The Home Run Derby X concept was very well-received during our international events last year and we expect similar levels of enthusiasm here in the States.”
