Post Game Notes from 4/3/18

Matt Harvey: Tossed 5.0 shutout innings and notched five strikeouts...The five strikeouts were the most by Harvey since he also had five strikeouts on June 14 last year vs. the Cubs...Harvey had one outing last year where he worked 5.0 or more innings and did not allow a run (June 9 at Atlanta).

More Matt: Matt Harvey has 40 career starts where he's allowed one run or fewer...That is tied for the fifth-most starts among pitchers in their first 102 games dating to 1908...Below is the list.

Jerry Blevins: Picked up the win tonight...Has won his last seven decisions, dating to April 10, 2017, tying his career-high...Blevins also won seven straight decisions from September 23, 2012-April 6, 2014.

Shutouts: The Mets posted their first shut out of the year while the Phillies were blanked for the first time this year...New York had five shutouts last year.

Mets Strikeouts: Mets pitching has recorded 46 strikeouts through four games...That is the most in team history through four games, surpassing the 2005 Mets and their 42 punchouts in the first four games of the year.

Travis d'Arnaud: Has one RBI in each of his first two games.

Mets catchers: Travis d'Arnaud and Kevin Plawecki have combined to hit .333 (4-12) with four runs scored, one double, one home run, three RBI and four walks this year.

Two-Out RBI: With Travis d'Arnaud's two-out RBI, the Mets have recorded eight two-out RBI in their first four games (scored 18 runs total).

Rhys Hoskins: Went 1-4 tonight...Hoskins has hit safely in every game this year for the Phillies, going 6-14 (.429).

Ben Lively: Has made four of his 16 career starts vs. the Mets...He has posted a 2.52 ERA (seven earned runs/25.0 innings) in those starts.
