PETE CROW-ARMSTRONG TO UNDERGO SURGERY

FLUSHING, N.Y., May 18, 2021 – The New York Mets have announced today that minor league outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong will undergo surgery on his right shoulder for a GLAD lesion (glenoid labral articular disruption). Crow-Armstrong, the Mets first-round pick in the 2020 First-Year Player Draft, underwent a physical examination and MRI that revealed a tear of the labrum as well as injury to the articular cartilage of the shoulder earlier this week. Mets Medical Director Dr. David Altchek has confirmed the diagnosis and the surgery will be performed in the coming weeks by Dr. Neal ElAttrache.
