Metscellaneous: New York has lost two straight and finished the homestand 5-3...The club is 2-4 in rubber games and 12-13 at home...The Mets fell to 4-2 vs. Miami this year.

Leading/Trailing After Eight: The Mets fell to 17-2 when leading after eight innings this year...New York also lost on April 21 4-3 at Atlanta after leading 3-2 heading to the ninth...Miami won its first game this season when trailing after eight innings (1-24). 

Strikeouts: Mets pitching struck out 10 batters tonight...It was the club's eighth straight game with nine or more strikeouts, tied for the longest streak in franchise history (also July 24-31, 2016).

Jacob deGrom: Spun 7.0 shutout innings, allowed four hits and struck out eight...Has allowed one run in his last 33.1 innings (0.27 ERA) in his last six starts and lowered his season ERA to 1.54...In that six-start span, deGrom has struck out 47, walked 10 and allowed 21 hits.

deCiti: Is 3-0 with a 1.45 ERA (five earned runs/31.0 innings) at Citi Field this season with 45 strikeouts and four walks (five starts)...Lowered his career home ERA to 2.26 (93 earned runs/370.0 innings...The 2.26 home ERA is second-lowest among active pitchers with 300 or more innings at home...Clayton Kershaw is first (2.07 ERA). 

One Run or Fewer: deGrom has allowed one run or fewer in 53 of his 117 career starts (45 percent)...The 53 games are the most such games in a pitcher's first 117 games since 1908.

Seth Lugo: Extended his career-best scoreless streak to 15.0 innings tonight..Has struck out 16 and walked one batter during the run while allowing eight hits during that stretch dating to May 1.

Brandon Nimmo: Hit his third home run of the season with his go-ahead solo homer in the fifth inning...Four of his nine
career homers have given the Mets the lead or tied the game (three go-ahead homers and one game-tying homer)...Finished the game 2-3 and reached base three times...In 18 starts this season, Nimmo owns a .420 OBP.

Marlins: Have won two straight and finished a six-game road trip, 3-3.

Caught Stealing: J.T. Realmuto caught Amed Rosario stealing for the first out of the fifth inning...This season, Marlins catchers have caught 19 of 35 opponents attempting to steal (54.3%), the highest caught stealing percentage and most caught stealing in the majors this season.

Dan Straily: Worked 6.0 innings and allowed one run, earned, on four hits in a no-decision...Struck out five and walked three...Over his last two starts, Straily has allowed one run in 13.0 innings of work (0.69 ERA)...In four starts this month, Straily owns a 2.04 ERA (five earned runs/22.0 innings)...Since joining the Marlins, Straily owns a 1.69 ERA (four earned runs/21.1 innings) in four starts vs. the Mets.
