QBC: The 2021 Gil Hodges Award Recipient.

At every QBC we present the Gil Hodges Unforgettable Fire Award to a person who exemplifies the spirit that Gil had. Past recipients have been Gil Hodges, David Wright, Ed Charles, Tom Seaver, and Buddy Harrelson.

He Warms Our Hearts, Brightens Our Spirits, and Lights Our Way Still.” This is what is inscribed on each year’s award. The inscription couldn’t be more apropos for this year's recipient. This year’s recipient was instrumental with getting bloggers to be recognized by the Mets. This year’s recipient put themselves into their work with the Mets and the Mets community. This person was loved by all they met. This person was amazing to their family. This person was amazing to their extended family. In other words, this person was amazing in general. If it were not for this person, there might not be a QBC today.

The QBC’s Gil Hodges “Unforgettable Fire” Award committee is proud to announce that they are giving this award to a person who, when she passed away, left a hole in many, many people’s hearts. We are proud to give this award to Shannon Forde. Shannon Forde was an exemplary person. She worked tirelessly to make the Mets organization, Mets players, and the Mets community better. I honestly can go on and on about Shannon but we will save this for November 13th 2021.

If you have any memories of Shannon Forde and would like to either write or film a few words about her please do and send it to me at
