"Sandlot” star Mike Vitar dodged prison Tuesday for the near-fatal beatdown of a recent college grad on Halloween 2015.
Vitar, now a firefighter, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor battery charge in exchange for 90 days community service and a year of anger management classes, according to TMZ.
The firefighter played “Benny ‘The Jet’ Rodriguez” in the 1993 cult baseball/coming-of-age comedy, and appeared in various other films before retiring from acting in 1997.
