Mets Game Notes 6/19/17

I think this is becoming my staple to when I have nothing to post.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY: The Mets are 28-33 all-time on Father’s Day...New York has played Atlanta twice on Father’s Day, beating the Braves, 2-1, in 1979 at Shea and losing 1-0 last year at Turner Field.
SPECIAL MEANING: All MLB players, managers, coaches, trainers, umpires and groundskeepers will wear blue wristbands and blue ribbon uniform decals...Additionally, the Mets (along with every MLB team) will wear a specially designed uniform that incorporates light blue into the Mets script and numbers...Major League Baseball will donate royalties earned from the sales of licensed Father’s Day jerseys and caps to the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) and Stand Up To Cancer.
NBA GAME 7: The Golden State Warriors host the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals Game 7 tonight...When the NBA goes to a seventh game in the Finals, the Mets are 5-5 on the date of that game (with two off days), including winning four of the last five such games...The Mets have won in 2010 (LA-Boston), 2005 (San Antonio-Detroit), 1994 (Knicks-Houston), 1988 (LA- Detroit) and 1978 (Washington-Seattle) and lost in 2013 (Miami- San Antonio), 1984 (Boston-LA), 1974 (Boston-Milwaukee), 1970 (Knicks-LA) and 1962 (Boston-LA).
VS. ATLANTA: Five of New York's next seven games are against the Braves...The Mets are 5-3 vs. Atlanta this year...The Mets opened the year 4-0 vs. Atlanta but have gone 1-3 since...New York is 10-5 vs. the Braves in its last 15 match-ups dating to September 10, 2015, including 3-5 at Citi Field.
SERIES NOTES: After losing the first two games of this series, the Mets will look to avoid being swept by the Braves for the first time since June 19-21, 2015 at Turner Field...The last time Atlanta swept the Mets in a three-game series in New York was September 7-9, 2012.
HOME RUNS: The Mets have hit 90 homers, the second-most in the NL and the sixth-most in the majors.

JAMES LONEY: Had three extra-base hits last night (two doubles, triple), tying his career-best, done twice previously, last on June 15, 2010 with the Dodgers at Cincinnati...The last Met to have three extra-base hits in a game was Yoenis Cespedes on September 7, 2015 at Washington...Loney also extended his hitting streak to seven games...Loney is hitting .360 (9-25) during the streak...Loney has reached base safely in 10 straight games and in 15 of the 17 games he's played with the Mets.
WILMER FLORES: Is tied for seventh in the NL with a .356 (16-45) batting average in June (min. 50 plate appearances)... Since taking over third base for David Wright on June 3, Wilmer Flores is hitting .356 (16-45) with three doubles, two homers, eight RBI and six runs scored....Flores has homered in two of his last three starts (June 15 vs. Pittsburgh and last night).
SPECIAL START: Jacob deGrom will start on Father's Day after becoming a dad for the first time on April 11 this year when his son Jaxson was born...DeGrom also celebrates his 28th birthday today.
JACOB deGROM: Has made eight straight starts without a win... He is 0-3 with a 3.47 ERA (19 earned runs/49.1 innings) during that span...DeGrom has 42 strikeouts in his last 31.0 innings.
deGROM IN deCITI: He is 13-8 with a 1.93 ERA (43 earned runs/200.2 innings) in 31 starts at Citi Field...His 1.93 home ERA is the third-lowest in the majors since 2014 among pitchers with at least 150.0 innings...Trails Clayton Kershaw (1.61) and Jake Arrieta (1.73)...DeGrom is 2-1 with a 2.19 ERA (nine earned runs/37.0 innings) in six starts at home this season.
deGROM IN deDAY: Jacob deGrom is 13-2 with a 1.57 ERA (27 earned runs/154.2 innings) in 24 career daytime starts...That is the best daytime ERA among qualified major league pitchers over the last three years.
JEURYS FAMILIA: Has 22 saves, the most in the majors... Is 22-22 in save opportunities in 2016...Familia has saved 38 consecutive games in the regular season dating to August 1, 2015, extending a franchise-record...It is the second-longest active streak in the major leagues (Arizona’s Brad Ziegler has saved 42 straight opportunities).
JERRY BLEVINS: Has not allowed a run in his last 19 outings, over a career-best 11.0 innings...It is tied for the eighth-longest current scoreless streak in the majors...He has stranded 19 of 21 inherited runners, the seventh-best percentage among major league relievers (min 16 inherited runners).
TRAVIS d'ARNAUD: Went 1-4 with a walk and run scored last night for Las Vegas (AAA) at Salt Lake...He caught nine innings...D'Arnaud is hitting .297 (11-37) with three doubles, five RBI, four runs scored and 10 walks in 10 rehabilitation games...D'Arnaud has been on the 15-Day DL since April 26 with a right rotator cuff strain.
FLORIDA STATE LEAGUE ASG: St. Lucie shortstop Amed Rosario went 0-4, outfielder Wuilmer Beccerra was 0-2 and catcher Tomas Nido was 1-2 last night in Fort Myers during the 2016 Florida State League All-Star Game.
PRE-GAME AWARDS: Prior to today's game, Steven Matz will be presented with his NL Rookie of the Month Award for May, RHP Bartolo Colon will receive a customized watch for his NL Player of the Week Award for the week of May 2-8 and RHP Noah Syndergaard will also be presented with a customized time piece for his NL Player of Week Award for the week of May 16-22.
BRAVES-METS NOTES: The Mets have posted back-to-back double-digit win seasons (2014-2015) vs. Atlanta/Milwaukee for the first time in their team history.
