This is a typical way for the Mets to end June. I can’t remember the last time the Mets have gone into Pittsburgh and won a series. It’s like playing the Marlins, the Mets just can’t win. That being said, what we have here is the typical Mets “June Swoon”. For years and years the Mets have played like crap in June. It just never goes well for them in June. Last season was weird. They had their June Swoon in April and May and were able to turn it around.
The Mets had a team meeting after the game Saturday night after another atrocious outing. The bats are dead, pitcher’s arena are flat and there is no umph right now with this team, maybe this will wake them up a bit?
It also seemed like the home plate ump was calling a bad game with his strike zone. The only thing was he was calling it badly for both teams.
I don’t often write about the product on the field because I am not a GM or a professional manager but something needs to be done with the team. What that something is, I have no idea.
