All Star Games

My cousin Shannon over at Metspolice.com has been talking about "fixing" baseball games and I agree with him about some things but I don't know if he has touched on the ASG but I'm going to.

People make a big deal about being an All Star and I get that it used to be an honor but now it's more a popularity contest then anything else. Vote online from different accounts to get your faves in and don't really need merit to do so.

Let's talk about the game itself. It's boring as all hell. Does anyone play hard like they did back before the mid 90's? It doesn't feel like it to me. This just drags on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on......

Solution?

Turn it into a skills competition. Pitching, hitting, base stealing, throwing runners out and then base "runs" as points to the teams who win the events. Have the winning team win a monetary prize to donate to charity X. Losing team gets a less monetary prize to donate to charity Y. MVP of the event gets a separate monetary prize to donate to his personal charity. My suggestions aren't perfect, I just can't stand the ASG.
