I just wanted to take the time to show some of the folks who have said the QBC is expensive. Now the people who are running the show Pete Alonso is going to appear at run a great card show where you can get autographs from players and buy some great items from vendors. They have great guests who are there to sign and meet their fans. I also feel these are people who aren't collectors but are fans of the team and players we are bringing in.
The QBC models itself more on a Comic Con than a card show. We try to give our fellow Mets fans a day in the offseason that they can get together, have a good time, and be able to hear from media personalities, players, and fellow fans about the team that they love. How many other events do you get to meet your favorite player, listen to stories from the player, and ask questions about them. We also try to keep the autograph pricing down where it is affordable. We don't do different levels of pricing for items, we do one price for all different types of items.
Pete Alonzo has an expensive guarantee when you contract him to come in and that's why they are charging so much for an auto. But thats all you get. No panel. No getting to know the player better.
Bartolo Colón for $80 you get admission to all the panels and you can get one of any type item you want to get signed. Then if you have more items to get signed, they are $40 additional. An inscription is $20.
This pricing goes the same for RA Dickey also.
Howard Johnson for $65 you get admission to all the panels and you can get one of any type item you want to get signed. Then if you have more items to get signed, they are $20 additional.
