THE AMAZIN’ METS FOUNDATION HOSTS THIRD ANNUAL HOME RUNS & HIGHBALLS FUNDRAISER

FLUSHING, N.Y., July 20, 2023 – The Amazin’ Mets Foundation hosted its third annual Home Runs & Highballs fundraiser on Monday, July 17 at Citi Field. As the Amazin’ Mets Foundation’s largest fundraising event of the season, the event itself raised gross contributions of over $1 million. Mets Owners Steve and Alex Cohen matched all proceeds through the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation.

“Steve and I are committed to our neighbors around Citi Field and the entire Mets community,” said Alex Cohen, Co-Owner of the Mets and President of the Amazin’ Mets Foundation. “We are very grateful for the generous support of our fundraiser, which will help provide needed services and opportunities for children, families, and under-served groups.”

The philanthropic event was supported by the New York Mets organization. General Manager Billy Eppler, Manager Buck Showalter and the rest of the Mets coaching staff, the entire Mets roster, and Mets Alumni, including Mookie Wilson, Todd Zeile, Tim Teufel, Bobby Ojeda and Turk Wendell, were all in attendance. Attendees enjoyed Citi Field culinary favorites, games and activities, and chances to bid on unique memorabilia and experiences, including throwing out the first pitch at Citi Field and watching a game with Mets Owner Steve Cohen, as part of the Amazin’ Auction.

The Amazin’ Mets Foundation recently contributed over $445,000 to fully fund the renovation of Baseball Field #10 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Since its inception in 2021, the Amazin’ Mets Foundation has funded over $6.2 million in grants to over 120 organizations in the community, including the communities surrounding affiliate teams.
