Nice letter penned by Brodie. My cousin over at Metspolice has another conspiracy theory going on. Sort of like the Alonso post.

Also Wags used the same formatting Pete Alonso did when Pete woke up yesterday and penned a letter to Mets fans.   Read the conspiracy.

Anyway back to the topic on hand. I personally am hoping the Mets pull this off. I am going to root for the team like always but I am not going to get all sucked into it yet. I can't. I don't think the Mets are going to make the playoffs and I am just hoping for some good competitive ball games that will make the rest of the season enjoyable to watch.

Pete Alonso yesterday "Penned" a post to the NY Mets Fan Base Via Twitter where he created the  hashtag #LFGM. My cousin over at metspolice.com has come up with the idea that Polar Bear Pete didn't write this. He even compares it to the Loyalty Oath from a  few years ago.

Scully, both are calls to action.  The Loyalty Oath is asking Mets fans to sign the letter and saying “you support matters.”  The Alonso letter, while written in a different style, says “We need you guys, the fans…”

Mulder, you’re crazy.

Scully, the Loyalty Oath says “we wouldn’t have won without you.”   The Alosno Letter says “you guys have been unreal all year.”

Mulder….

Loyalty Oath: “If you agree that the fans have a role to play in making amazing things happen.”  Alonso Letter: “We need you guys, the fans, more than ever for these last two months.  Together, let’s be a part of history.”

Mulder….

Scully, look at the construction of that last sentence.  “We need you guys, the fans, more than ever for these last two months.  Together, let’s be a part of history.”  Have you seen Alonso speak publicly?

What do you guys think? Is my cousin crazy? No. I don't mean in general. I mean about this. Does it sound like Pete wrote it?

No trades for The Mets at the trade deadline.

The Mets made their two moves on Sunday and Monday and didn't do anything on Wednesday. Stroman is a big move for a team that was supposedly a seller this year. Did they do this to get into the playoffs this year or is it a move for next season? Folks are going crazy over the fact the Mets keep giving up prospects. How many Mets prospects have lived up to their hype over the years? I have always felt if you can get a proven Major Leaguer in their prime for a prospect why not do it? You never know what the prospects are going to become.

Vargas being moved. Was that a salary dump or was it the Mets sending him to a rival team that they hope his good pitching is an aberration and he is going to blow up and cost the Phillies more wins by pitching horribly down the stretch?

Why didn't the Mets shore up the bullpen? Is it because there was no one out there? (There was. Look what Atlanta did) Or are they just gun shy with acquiring BP help now?

BTW is Diaz the new Familia? Pitches to two batters, strikes them out, then gives up a home run? What's going on inside his head?
