A special award given to Joan Payson, majority owner of the New York Mets, The Gil Hodges "Unforgettable Fire" Award given in 2023 by QBC (Queens Baseball Convention). This award is a blown crystal tear shape with interior striations of blue and gilt. 7" tall overall, crystal sculpt. 5 3/4" x 3 1/8" wide x 1 1/2" thick. Metal tag: Joan Payson/ Gil Hodges "Unforgettable Fire"/ Award 2023 QBC. 800 grams weight. A highly unusual piece of baseball memorabilia.


Goon here- This keeps blowing my mind. The fact that auction houses and eBay sellers price the QBC Unforgettable Fire awards so high really does blow my mind. The Tom Seaver one went for over $400, might have even been $600 and the buy it now price for this Payson one is $910? WOW. Full transparency though this is the one time we made two awards at the request of the family so both the grandson and granddaughter could have one. No idea which one this is.
