Which former Mets Players get a free pass from fans?

My cousin over at Metspolice is bringing up a point about something that goes on with Mets fans. Some fans don't want to sign Trevor Bauer but give Bartolo Colon a free pass. Some Mets fans wanted to run Brandon and his wife Chelsea out of town because they donated to the the republicans, yet Piazza gets a pass for his Trump support from these same fans? What is the the rules for free passes to the fans? I'm curious.

NY Post reports @stevenacohen made $1.6 Billion in 2020.


This is going to ruffle the whiny, entitled contingent of Mets fans. They are going to start complaining that no big name free agents were signed yet. Who know's how much Cohen actually made in 2020 but that is pretty cool if he made almost as much as he paid for the Mets.

Mets fans will be pleased to learn that Steve Cohen hit it out of the park last year.

The billionaire investor’s hedge fund Point72 Asset Management returned double digit gains of around 17 percent in 2020, according to an investor. 

Cohen’s personal take on that haul is expected to be in the range of $1.6 billion — or roughly two-thirds the $2.4 billion the 64-year-old paid for the Queens team in August after an earlier $2.6 billion deal fell apart in February. 

The pay raise couldn’t come at a better time. Cohen– who ended 2020 with a net worth pegged at $14 billion, according to Forbes — has vowed to spend big on the Mets. And fans are expected to try to keep him to that promise, especially if he continues to rebel against his reputation as a button-up money man by engaging with them on Twitter.

Spoiler: @Mets Mystery DMs look to be solved

 A few weeks ago one of my buddies reach out and asked me if I got a DM from the Mets about being a passionate fan and that they wanted to send him something. A few different folks I know got these DMs and also a few I follow on Twitter that I don’t know personally got it too.

That’s pretty cool of the Mets to send a gift like this to fans. I don’t know if it was their idea of the hat company’s idea (for promotional purposes)but either way it is cool to reward fans for being fans.

@QBConvention has a Youtube channel.

 


I have been working to launch a youtube channel for the QBC. A lot of the videos that were uploaded in the past have been on vimeo(they still are). I moved the videos from the Past QBCs over to youtube to make the videos more accessible. I also wanted to make the channel so when we do a virtual QBC we have a few different landing points for it and I think Youtube and twitch are a couple of good places to have folks be able to watch from. I will probably be doing some test shows over the next few weeks to make sure I iron out any of the wrinkles of using new tech.
