Albany Doles out Cash for TV/Film Production in NYC

Though it's likely not enough to make a significant impact, New York State has rationed $350 million for TV/film production in New York City in its budget, which was finalized over the weekend and is being voted on tomorrow. Industry experts are worried that the funds will not be enough to entice long term commitment to filming in New York as the money would run out in less than a year.

Despite the final outcome on the budget, the industry will continue to rally behind other legislation that would provide unlimited funding for production incentives.

The Sith are sitting back and watching this all unfold, waiting and biding their time. Meanwhile Luke Skywalker is trying to resurrect the Jedi's. But the chancellor is really making it tough to carry a lightsaber...

Star Wars Episode VII

In a time long long ago.. The Republic has its infighting due to the fact they still feel they can't trust the Jedi after the events that led up to the Emperor coming into power. The republic is now in a financial crisis and they have sunk all there hope into one man, The New Chancellor of the senate..The first Bespin Coruscantian elected....Lando Obama Calrissian...He has signed a stimulus package to help all displaced tatooine's who were hit with Jabba the Hut's sub prime mortgages on there Vapor farms....The Jawas, the sand people and the corellians are all saying its time for a change. Since the empire folded their banks have been withering too,,,Now the republic owns 80 percent of them... People keep saying the empire was too big to fail.....

Battlestar Gallactica

Finally a series ends with a finale fit for it. I do not want to get to involved into the whole episode but its just an awesome ending. To tie up all the loosed ends the way they did was beyond great. Now I am not looking forward to Caprica at all.. But, I am looking forward to seeing the next 2 hr movie THE PLAN. It will be cool seeing this war from the cylons eyes.

No really I can't wait

Batman RIP

I bought the Batman RIP collection. I was not impressed with this at all. I know this was supposed to be a big event to make a big splash and to introduce the battle for the cowl story line. It just convolutes batman's backstory over the years. They try to make sense of all the different batman costumes from the 50's through the 90's and even had Bat Mite in there. Maybe I am getting old, but I can not take these bad "big events" in comics anymore.

Tracy Morgan is not funny.

I really have to agree with Shannon SHark with the whole 30 rock show. Only one character is funny on it and its Alec Baldwin's. Now onto Tracy Morgan. I don't find him funny, never found him funny,nor will I likely ever find him funny. Here's my case in point.. Look for 2 cameos in this...I know Shannon Shark will love one.

I have been shooting pics recently for a friend that has a bar...I was just wondering when did girls start fake kissing and real kissing each other for pics? I do not remember this at all when I was younger. Did I miss something? I guess I am getting older..Anyone else notice stuff like this?

On Heroes

I am getting tired of seeing XMEN story lines from the 1990's popping up on Heroes. I was looking through a ton of my old comics and I keep running into the same stories on Heroes. I am getting tired of it. And can we do we really need Lex Luthor's dad from Smallville as Sylar's dad. Come on..really.

The Watchmen

Now I enjoyed the comic series of The Watchmen when I was younger. Hell, I enjoy 90 percent of comics growing up. I was hoping Zak Snyder would come through with really good version of this in film. And he succeeded. I was drawn in right from the beginning. And putting all the little cameos of the "celebs" from NYC in the early 80's was great. Now I do not want to go to in depth of the film because it annoys me when reviewers give the whole plot away for films. I know there is source material already out there that has been read. But I really doubt everyone has read it. But anyway see the movie...the soundtrack is awesome too.

MLB: The Show

Awesome graphics, really fun game to play...what sold it for me is the announcement at Citifield that the NY Mets were selling Shea Stadium seat backs in shadow box display cases. When I heard that I could not stop laughing. The Mets shilling even in the game..its awesome.

Shake Shack

Now I tried Shake Shack for the first time today. I have to say it was pretty good...I don't know how its going to translate at the new Citifield. Its going to be very messy eating this in the seats at the stadium. I also spent 9 dollars for a double cheeseburger and a bottle of water. No fries...How much mored does the price get jacked up to at the ballpark?

Watchmen

I am dying to see the Watchmen. Now I am not one of those comic book geeks that thinks this is the be all end all comic. I know it started the grittiness of the the last almost 25 yrs. I still loved it don't get me wrong it is one of my favorite books, and Zack Snyder has quietly become one of my favorite directors. SInce he remade Dawn of the Dead I slowly became hooked on him. Then 300 blew me away. Now if The Watchmen is even close to being as good as i think its going to be, hell even if its as half as good as I think its going to be its going to be amazing.

Shelley's Of Woodside, NY

Shelleys Bar. It was a neighborhood landmark for years all the way back to the days when Ed Fowley (Woodside guy through and through) owned the place. Then it has changed hands a few times had a name change and was brought back to being Shelley's again. I was there last night to shoot some pics for the owners of the place and wow I do not remember it as this much fun when i was younger. It is great to have a old legacy neighborhood bar back in Woodside. ( i know not really a wide media story, but who actually reads this blog of mine?)
