Another Mets Season Done.

 

Another season for the Mets without a World Series Championship. Is the team cursed? Is the owner more concerned about trying to put a casino on NYC parkland to worry about how the team faired? The fans after getting shamed by the organization for not coming out last season attendance wise showed up this season and set an attendance record of over 3 million fans showing up to root for the Mets.

What did this all bring to the fans by showing up? A disappointing season. Folks are calling this the worst collapse ever for the Mets. The 2007 Mets might have a word with you. This whole season to me, even when the Mets were so far ahead at the beginning of the season just felt flat to me. This season almost felt like the first half of last season where the team had no oomph. No heart whatsoever. This team just never clicked for me. Do I think this is going to continue into next season? No. I think the Mets have a decent core of Superstars and Stars that aren't opting out or are still signed for at least next year that if the right parts are added this team could feel fun again. A lot of the younger guys started off rough and it seemed to beat them down a bit. Hopefully coming back next season with another MLB season under their belts that it might be easier for them to have a more fruitful year.

Lucky for me as a Mets fan I am used to disappointment with most seasons with this team. Anyway, you know what that means? We are one step closer to the Queens Baseball Convention which will be on Saturday December 13th. 1986 Mets Player Jesse Orosco is the first announced panel/signing guest along with SNY returning as our Presenting Sponsor and bringing in two panels, Mark Healey returns with the State of the Mets(Hooooboy this is going to be a fun one) and The Mets Make a Deal Gameshow hosted by Dennis Holden. John Saponaro returns as the Master of Ceremonies and there will be more guests and panels announced soon. We are nailing down a current Mets player and hope to have pricing and tickets on sale the next few days.

Committees unanimously approve Queens and Yonkers casino proposals

No folks not that casino in Queens. Basically after these two have made the next move until final approval there is potentially one more license available with two candidates. One is where the parkland in Citi Field resides and the other is over in the Bronx on the other side of the Whitestone Bridge.

Following the era-defining accomplishment of their Long Live: The Black Parade tour, My Chemical Romance announces 17 new live dates in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their landmark third studio album. The Black Parade 2026 will visit stadiums across North America, the UK, and Europe next year, including a stop at Citi Field in New York, NY, on August 9, 2026. Watch a trailer for the tour HERE. Tickets for all new dates go on sale this Friday, September 26, at 12:00 pm HERE. 

 

The UK and European leg of The Black Parade 2026 kicks off on June 30 in Liverpool and concludes on July 18 in Madrid. With their first two shows at London’s Wembley Stadium currently at capacity, the band has added a third night at the iconic venue on July 8. 

 

Following two completely sold-out Mexico City dates in February, the tour’s North American leg will resume on August 9 at New York City’s famed Citi Field, visi major markets across the country, and wrap on October 24 with a three-night run at Los Angeles’s historic Hollywood Bowl. Once again hand-selected, the North American leg’s very special guests include: Franz Ferdinand, Pierce The Veil, Modest Mouse, Iggy Pop, Sleater-Kinney, The Breeders, Babymetal, Jimmy Eat World, and The Mars Volta. 

 

My Chemical Romance will also embark on previously announced tours of South America and Southeast Asia, in addition to headlining a series of major US festivals, including Welcome to Rockville, Sonic Temple, and Louder Than Life. QBC 2025 Update

 I know you guys are anxiously awaiting updates for QBC ‘25 and I want to give you a quick one. I just wanted to give quick run downs in this post.

1) There is some bad news about one of our sponsors. Unfortunately Empire Harley who was going to sponsor the panel room is going out of business and shutting its doors at the end of the month. This sucks because my best friend and the guys that I know that work at the dealership have lost their place of employment and I’m bummed out for them. I’ve know those guys for around 10 years and I feel for them and their families and that they have to find new employment. 

2) If you know someone or own a business that wants to be a sponsor that at QBC hit us up at info@queensbaseballconvention.com

3) Positive note and this is why we have been quiet. We have a great working relationship with Coach’s Collectibles and Dom(from Coach’s) and myself are putting together some cool former and current Mets panels and signings. The QBC is always trying to bring our fellow fans the best bang for their buck on the bleary Saturday in December where we all get to hang out and have fun.

4) SNY who has been an amazing partner over the years is bringing back their talent to the QBC in the form of panels. You guys know what we’ve done with them in the past. They have brought in Baseball Night in NY, The Mets Pod, and Hot Stove. So you know you’ll enjoy the panels.
