$50 for these hats? These look so cheap. I get that they are made of different materials than usual hats but the design is so basic. The hats just look blah. I'll wait a few months until they are on sale in some of the discount stores.

Tom Seaver's QBC Gil Hodges Award sells for $310

Description

2017 The Gil Hodges Unforgettable Fire Award Presented to Tom Seaver from The Tom Seaver Collection. The Gil Hodges Award honors individuals who exemplify integrity, leadership, and character in professional baseball. Named after Mets legend Gil Hodges, it recognizes those whose conduct reflects sportsmanship, respect, and professionalism, celebrating Hodges' lasting legacy both on and off the field.

The 2017 recipient of the award was Tom Seaver. This 9" award has the outline of a flame and the following on front: "The Gil Hodges Unforgettable Fire Award 2017 Presented to George Thomas Seaver Thank you for all you have done for us fans The Queens Baseball Convention" notated. Light wear. Letter of provenance from Nancy Seaver.

Something I never, ever thought would happen was that anyone would ever bid on the  QBC Gil Hodges Unforgettable Fire Award. I know that the QBC is a "known" entity but there were so many other items that could have been bid on by Tom Seaver fans. The only thing I can think of is that this was "won" by someone who is both a Tom Seaver and a QBC fan. Again, I am still in disbelief that something from the QBC was put up in an auction of distinction and sold
