Was this malicious? No way. Was it a brain fart as Alonso said? Yep. I don't think this is on any player on an opposite team to know that this is your first hit. Should the first base coach let an opposing player after it happens? Probably. For all the stuff that Alonso does do that I don't agree with, he totally gets a pass on this one.
