Dollar Hot Dog Night at Citi Field?

Bring your appetite and head to Citi Field on Tuesday, April 30 for Dollar Dog Night. Enjoy $1 hot dogs courtesy of Nathan’s.

Offer valid for Nathan’s Original Hot Dogs; gluten free or veggie hot dogs are available. Excludes specialty hot dogs, hawking and in-seat service. Only available at participating locations.

Limit of four (4) hot dogs per transaction. While supplies last. Not valid with other discounts. Promotion subject to rescheduling or cancellation.

Enter Citi Field using the MLB Ballpark app. Log in with your MLB.com account to view your tickets and forward them to friends. Download the app today.

My questions about this is was the pre planned? Was it added after the poor attendance in the first few weeks at Citi Field? How can they then charge what they usually charge for a hot dog on other nights then?

ABOUT ATEEZ

ATEEZ, short for ‘A TEEnager Z’, is an eight-member South Korean group that has taken the world by storm immediately after their debut in October 2018. Known for standout performances that combine runway aesthetics with darker tones lined by hip-hop and electronic trap mixes, the octet have turned storytelling into a full musical experience. The eight members of ATEEZ are HONGJOONG, SEONGHWA, YUNHO, YEOSANG, SAN, MINGI, WOOYOUNG, and JONGHO.  Their group name stood for “everything teenagers need from A to Z’, and has since evolved alongside their fans (named ATINY) to become ‘everything you need from A to Z’. Establishing themselves as top artists early on in their career with a sold out global tour only four months after their debut, they continue to break their own records. In a unique narrative that starts from the very first release in the ‘TREASURE’ album series and continues through the ‘FEVER’ and ‘THE WORLD’ masterpieces, the group combines bestseller narratives with personalized music that speaks to their generation. The pirates of the high K-pop seas ATEEZ have made their mark as a million seller group, charting on the Billboard 200 with multiple releases and setting a new milestone with their latest release topping the chart at No.1.

Mets City Connect Jersey Press Release

THE NEW YORK METS UNVEIL NIKE MLB CITY CONNECT JERSEY

The City Connect-edition jersey showcases how the Mets are woven into the fabric of
New York City

Click here for the full media asset library.

FLUSHING, N.Y., April 19, 2024 – The New York Mets today introduced their highly-anticipated City Connect jersey. Representing on all fronts, the uniform honors everything about NYC that makes it the World’s City – the trains that connect our fans, the bridges that bring our boroughs together and the concrete that serves as the steady heartbeat of the city’s grit and grind.

"Our new City Connect uniforms are an homage to everything that makes NYC the greatest city in the world. We wanted to honor different parts of the city that connect to our home in Queens.” said Mets Chief Marketing Officer Andy Goldberg. “From the bridges to the trains to the streets, Mets fans across New York and beyond can wear this streetwear style look with pride.”

When taking a closer look at the design of the jersey and cap, there are several unique design elements, nodding to the passion of our fans while presenting a distinct New York style, including:

image002.png

Movement: New Yorkers have a choice to make – local or express. The circles and diamonds that make up the NYC subway system form the pinstripes on the jersey.

image003.png

The Token: The sleeve patch is a nod to our past, taking its cue from the New York Subway token. One fare to take you everywhere. And if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.

image004.png

The 7-Line: In the City’s most diverse borough, there is one train that represents all New Yorkers equally and brings you to our home. We weave purple throughout this uniform as an homage to the ultimate connector – The 7-Line.

image005.png

Diversity: Queens is known as the world’s borough.  In a city that feels like a world of its own, we own the name “The World’s City.”

image006.png

Connection: In a city connected by bridges, there is one that is notably Queens. We honor the trusses of the majestic Queensboro Bridge across the front of our cap, on our jersey, and on our pants.

image007.png

The Map: Nothing connects New York like the subway system. Hidden behind the concrete of the underbill, like the subway under our streets, with its colors twisted on a map, the iconic NYC train lines are now tucked in your mind.

To launch City Connect in a truly New York way, the Mets enlisted some help from an array of New Yorkers to lean into the if you know, you know (IYKYK) moniker, but with a New York twist with BMX rider Nigel Sylvester, Rapper Large Professor, graffiti artist Futura 2000, New York jeweler Greg Yuna, film producer Jaeki Cho and producer and filmmaker Mario Ramos – all who can be seen in the hype video here.

For the first week of the launch (4/19 – 4/27), fans can purchase the City Connect products live in store and online at the Mets Team Store – which will have the largest assortment of merchandise, Mets Online Store,MLBShop.comNike.com, Nike Retail Stores and MLB Flagship Store in NYC. After this initial on sale period, products will be available at additional retail stores.

The New York Mets will wear the City Connect jerseys for every Saturday home game throughout the season, (except for June 1beginning April 27th. Get your tickets for all games at https://www.mets.com/tickets.

Mets Text about City Connect Jerseys

Just got this text from the Mets. Do we think anyone is running out at 11am on Friday to buy the City Connect Jerseys that we haven’t officially seen yet? And weren’t the jerseys supposed to have originally been on field 4/26?

I sold this Butch Huskey Jersey at QBC

You never know what you might find for sale at the Queens Baseball Convention. Museum Quality pieces of history even if the Mets Museum in my opinion isn't museum quality anymore. Congrats to my buddy Jessie on getting this piece and also want to thank him for being one of the guys who try to keep Mets history alive bylending to the museum.

Steve Cohen Responds To Bathrooms Being Closed AT Citi Field

The other day I got a tweet about the Promenade section having 1/2 the bathrooms closed down on Friday night's game. The tweeter also tagged Steve Cohen and Steve responded with, "How many do you use in an evening?" I get wanting to reply like this to folks and I have done it myself in the past but even if Steve  Cohen is thinking what he tweeted, he could have ignored it or said something like, "We'll look into it", even if he didn't. This is one of the reasons I have been saying this stadium is going to end up being outdated in the near future. Might have to start looking at the infrastructure thats in place at the stadium for physical things as well as operationally. Just saying.

What do you guys think?

I felt very meh at Citi Field.

I went to my first Mets game at Citi Field this season and boy was it not a good experience. Over the years the staff had went from cranky and surly to friendly and helpful. The Mets did a great job to change the way their employees have interacted with the fans over the year. I don't know if it is the new management that they have brought in but there were quite a few ushers that were curt and just not helpful.

I was walking with a buddy and we went to just see the sightline of one of the newer areas that was installed last season and the usher says " I need to see your ticket". Not, "Hey guys, can I see your ticket?". " Hey Guys, even to stand over here you need a ticket." But nope. Had to be a jerk about it. A few of the Aramark folks push through with their carts not saying excuse me, or coming through folks. Nope. just pushed folks out of the way.

Now don't get me wrong. There are still a lot of of the good employees working there but when you go to more than enough games, events, concerts, run your own convention, you kind of get the idea of how staff is supposed to be and how the customer service experience can start trending down,

I also went to the relocated smaller Mets Museum and its the first time I had seen it in person. I have literally been to friends houses that have a bigger and better displays of Mets history and memorabilia. I am not making this up. Folks were coming into the museum and saying "That's it?" and there were folks laughing at it.

I walked around looking at the different food options. I don't know if it's just me, but usually every season the newer food vendors would have more of a wow factor. Found the returning Keith's Grill. There were a lot of chopped cheese stands. The Korean Chicken in the Hudson Whiskey Club was pretty good. The Pastrami Stand has been moved on field level(still the best food there).

I wandered the Promenade level and yep saw the bathrooms closed too.

Hopefully this gets better during the season.

SNY- Are these the City Connect Caps?

Sny Posted this on Facebook thats these might be the City Connect Caps for the Mets.

What do you guys think?

Why are bathrooms closed at Citi Field?

Why are the bathrooms closed up top? Not enough staffing? Mets figure that there aren't enough fans to open all the bathrooms up on the 400/500 level? Bathrooms broken? Any answers Mets?

NYCFC Soccer Stadium up for vote today

This should be an easy layup today for across Seaver Way. You know where it’s not NYC Parkland. I wonder what the 80,000 square feet of retail space is going to look like.

Maybe Mr Cohen can inquire about putting the casino over there even though I think personally that a casino shouldn’t be that close to a school:

Responses to my thoughts on retractable roofs, etc

Read more here at the link.

Here some of the responses to it.

K.-   Yeah, this is nuts. Citi is a gem and as long as it’s kept up which cohen has shown he’s invested in then it won’t be replaced for a very long time. I expect it to far outlast the length of time that shea was up. There’s no “land grab” when it comes to parking lots. The fact that it’s considered park land is laughable given it’s a parking lot. Any pushback for its use is crazy. Also we have a lot of negative connotations towards casinos still like it’s crappy Atlantic City, most aren’t like that anymore. I’m not a casino guy because I don’t gamble but I’ve been to Vegas and Foxwoods and a couple Midwest casinos for hotel stays and they’re nice. Who knows if there’s a casino coming anyway, there’s a bunch of other pThat's just the tip of the iceberg. roposals and only a few licenses being given. Also to “worry” about the housing and school over a casino, they’re literally building a soccer stadium a block over. It’s going to be a Manhattan feel in this area once completed.

Goon- you realize that Citi Field is on parkland too and the Mets have a 99 year lease to use it? It’s all taxpayers land.

M- I like the idea of casinos. Maybe some Sports Bars around Citified.

Goon-across the street on 126th street that’s being built now.

A.M I will say the food lines and bathrooms are absolutely a nightmare when there are sellouts and they sell SRO tickets. Eat and pee before the game or miss 1-2 full innings
