Update-- Mets: To Host Third Annual Military Softball Classic

*Due to the timing of the solar eclipse and concern for the safety of participants, the Military Softball Classic has been moved up two hours. Time change reflected below in red.*

METS HOST THIRD ANNUAL MILITARY SOFTBALL CLASSIC PRESENTED BY FIRST DATA ON AUGUST 21

WHAT: The Mets will host the third annual Mets Military Softball Classic presented by First Data, pitting the branches of the military against each other in a round-robin softball tournament. Following a greeting from Mets General Manager and retired Marine Sandy Alderson, the games will take place on the field at Citi Field with friends and family cheering the players on from the stands. After the tournament winner is crowned, players and their families will enjoy a ballpark buffet in the Bullpen Plaza. All participants will receive an official team t-shirt and tickets to that night’s game against the Diamondbacks.

Monday, August 21
10:45 a.m. – Sandy Alderson Welcome
11:00 a.m. – Warmups
11:20 a.m. – Games begin
