Shannon was the best....












Late Shannon Dalton Forde' father Michael Dalton and her children Nicholas and Kendall cut the ribbon at the naming of a Little League field, which was built by Major League Baseball and be named Shannon Dalton Forde Field, Friday, June 2, 2017, in Little Ferry, N.J.. Shannon, a native of Little Ferry, worked for the New York Mets for 22 years and passed away from breast cancer in 2016. (Marko Georgiev | The Record via AP)



Vice president of Mets media relations Jay Horwitz made a personal donation to jumpstart the process and the proceeds from MLB's "Play Ball" initiative, a charity auction held annually during the winter meetings to honor those in baseball who have been affected by cancer, went towards the renovation of the field that Forde grew up using for softball games.
