METS LAUNCH FIRST-EVER VIRTUAL VAULT

This is a pretty cool idea.
METS LAUNCH FIRST-EVER VIRTUAL VAULT
Fans can explore the Vault at MetsHeritage.com

FLUSHING, N.Y., JUNE 25, 2019 – The New York Mets, along with Heritage Werks, are excited to announce the launch of The Virtual Vault, a completely free digital archive of historical material that tells the story of the Mets franchise with a heavy emphasis on the 1969 World Champion Mets in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary Celebration of that incredible season this weekend June 28-30.

Fans can explore the Virtual Vault beginning today by visiting www.MetsHeritage.com or Mets.com and clicking on the Virtual Vault tab.

The Virtual Vault is first of its kind in all of sports and fans will be able to view rare photographs and tickets, game-used gear and even galleries focused on 1969 Mets legends Tom Seaver, Jerry Koosman, Gil Hodges, Cleon Jones, and more. Fans can also share any item from the Vault on social media or directly with friends, family and other fans.

“We’ve heard from our fans and understand the passion to preserve and celebrate our team’s Amazin’ history,” said Mets Executive Vice President & Chief Revenue Officer Lou DePaoli. “This new site lets you relive, and even learn more about, your favorite Mets players and moments. We look forward to adding to the vault in the days and years to come.”

This is the initial phase of the roll out, with additional materials from other memorable moments and years in Mets history to come. The Mets Virtual Vault is an exciting resource not just for Mets and baseball fans, but also New York City locals, history buffs and sports fans of all kinds.

Van Wagenen making call from home during games?

This is very interesting. I can see BVW doing this if he is afraid of a star player getting hurt, but the decision should be on the manager and not the GM. I get trying to make sure that they don't want deGrom hurt but this is ridiculous.
According to an industry source, it was the rookie GM who instructed Mickey Callaway to remove Jacob deGrom from a game in Arizona earlier this month in which the Mets ace sustained a hip cramp. After deGrom was removed from the game in the seventh inning, the bullpen imploded in a loss that added to the frustration of a 2-5 road trip.
 Fromt the NY POST.
The source said Van Wagenen, who was watching the game at home on TV, communicated with a member of the Mets support staff with an order to remove deGrom from the game. Callaway complied with the order, and deGrom was visibly upset as he departed the field, certain that he could continue pitching. The manager was grilled for the move, but at the time insisted the decision was his.

“Hell, yeah, it’s unusual: sending word to the dugout, telling the manager what to do?” the source said. “I have never heard of that before.”
MLB rules stipulate that players and coaches cannot use cell phones anywhere during a game.

The source added there was grumbling at the time within the clubhouse that Van Wagenen hadn’t come forward and taken responsibility for the decision, as the perception persisted that deGrom was unhappy with a manager fighting to keep his job.

Topps Now must have thought we are all insane.

Look at these prices for a Pete Alonso Base Card. $1599bucks? $500? $200? Which of you psychopaths paid this kind of money for a piece of cardboard and a signature?

Insanity....

METS TO HONOR TOM SEAVER WITH ADDRESS CHANGE THURSDAY AT CITI FIELD

The New York Mets and the City of New York will honor Hall of Famer Tom Seaver by changing the address of Citi Field to 41 Seaver Way as well as renaming the street between Northern Blvd. and Roosevelt Ave. to Seaver Way.

Please note, 126th street will be completely closed from Northern Blvd to Roosevelt Ave beginning at 10 a.m.

Hypothetical question.

If you are a team and your manager starts flipping out on a beat reporter and then one of your pitchers threatens to knock that reporter out also. Does anyone get in trouble? Is the reporter allowed back into the clubhouse? And now do the other reporters band together like some sort of Avengers group and make that managers life miserable, more miserable then what it is already? The manager definitely didn’t do himself any favors with the main stream media at all. Now I wonder what the organization would do with this new stupid thing that happened.

What ya gonna do? When the main stream media runs wild on you, brotha?
