Game Used: Ventura World Series Jersey

Description

2000 Robin Ventura World Series Game Used New York Mets Jersey Grey Flannel COA Officially licensed MLB product.

$2,663.99-----

Game Used: Asdrubal Cabrera Helmet

About this helmet...
This auction is for an eye-catching "1986 style" turn back the clock batting helmet worn in many games during the 2016 season by New York Mets star shortshop ASDRUBAL CABRERA.  Cabrera put up very solid numbers in 2016, his first year with the Mets, winning over fans in droves.  In 141 games, Cabrera collected 146 hits including 23 home runs and 30 doubles.  He drove in 62 RBIs and batted .280 for the club, and was one key reason why the Mets made the post-season for the second consecutive year.

Cabrera, who is a switch hitter wore this helmet when facing left handed pitchers.  Most notably, he wore this helmet on Sunday, May 29th, when he homered off Clayton Kershaw of the Dodgers, perhaps the best pitcher in the game today!

The helmet is a beautiful royal blue Rawlings model with NY logo sticker affixed to the front.  It has a hard shell, thick padding and features a left ear flap.  It's a size 7 1/4 and has blue dymo tape on both the front and back, which reads "CABBY."  Inside the helmet are all of the Rawlings manufacturer tagging and labeling along with the size of the helmet in multiple places.  The helmet was collected after the 2016 season and was authenticated by Major League Baseball.  The MLB authentication sticker is affixed to the back of the helmet, next to the "CABBY" label.  The code on the sticker reads "JB 416906" which links to a record in the MLB database which states that he wore the helmet, and that it was collected after the final 1986 TBTC game of the year, played vs. Philadelphia on Sept. 26, 2016.

The helmet shows good use, with several nicks and dings.  Most notably, the front lid has bunches of checkered markings from his batting gloves, which likely had a coating of pine tar where he grabbed the helmet.  It was obtained by me directly from the Mets after the season ended and has never exchanged hands.  Cabrera's trademark throughout the season was being the guy who took the helmet off of his teammates' heads after they scored and returned to the dugout.  I thought it would be cool to have HIS helmet!  Unfortunately I never was able to display it... so I am offering it to someone who can!

Tailgate: T7LA Opening Day Tailgate 4/3

From the7line.com- good way to make new friends.

Opening Day 2017 tailgate!!!

Get to the ballpark bright and early to tailgate with us this Opening Day! Hopes are high and we're ready to rumble. New season, clean slate, let's party.

If you're new to the group you're highly encouraged to hit the tailgate party. DIVE RIGHT IN. Introduce yourself and get the camaraderie started before we even get to the seats.
Gates should open around 9am (GAME IS AT 1:10), so try to be early to make sure you get in to secure a spot. The lot can fill up pretty quickly especially since this is the first game of the regular season.
We'll be set up at our normal spot just past the train station platform. The MTA "Southfield Lot" is located on Roosevelt Avenue just next to the steps to the 7 train. Great location with plenty of room. Check the below map if you're not in the know.
Our season ticket members will be rocking their fresh 2017 jerseys. If you're joining us just for the day,  we ask that you wear orange. We know not everyone was willing or able to pick up the jersey separately, which is totally cool, just wear your favorite orange Mets gear.
We'll be filming some content for the "Orange and Blue Thing" podcast, so look for Darren and Brian if you'd like to take part.
Even if you're not sitting with us, you're welcome to come by. More the merrier, so tell your friends. You're encouraged to bring your own grills, drinks, snacks... but make sure you CLEAN UP after yourselves. Nobody likes a mooch, so please don't go rummaging through anyones coolers that don't belong to you. If you're feeling generous and you'd like to share, that's totally your call. Come prepared.
Even if you're shy, try to say hi. We're all friendly.

The game is at 1:10 so prepare to head in around NOON so we can get to our seats in time for the opening ceremony and National Anthem.

LET'S GO METS!

Bloggers: Mets "Bloggers"

I am taking a quick departure from my dumb eBay posts, my dopey jersey post, my once in a while decent read and Haley's Comet, knock one of of the park posts to bring you guys a public service announcement. Just because some of you want to be bloggers, doesn't mean you know how to.

Now, don't get me wrong. I am no Greg Prince, Jason Fry, Matt Cerrone, etc. But I try to do my best giving you folks accurate stories. There was a blogger the other day that irked me with his inaccurate story. It was about The7line and the Bronx Invasion 2017.

He said he had a representative from the 7line that told him the reason The7line isn't having the Bronx invasion is because the Yankees didn't want them there. Darren from The7line who is a friend of mine tweeted at this guy and said to him that the story was inaccurate and he never talked to anyone from The7line. The dude told Darren he did. Now if you didn't talk to Darren or Lizy you didn't talk to anyone from The7line. He then basically told Darren he doesn't know what he's talking about and his source does. Yeah the guy who founded the whole damn thing and is the one who had the contact with the Yankees, doesn't know what he's talking about and his source knows.

I tweeted at this guy that not all people should be bloggers. I commented on his post over on his site where I even gave him the info from the 7line blog(fact checking) and even told him to listen to the Orange and Blue Thing Podcast to get the info. He also said I went on a twitter rant and didn't contact him like a man to talk about it. I know folks who follow me on twitter and read this blog know what my twitter rants can be.

Here is the twitter convo:

Man that is some rant by me isn't it?

Oh and here is my comment on his post in his site.

Still waiting to see these screenshots...

And here is my response... Man. I am being so hard on this guy aren't I?

Basically I wanted to use this post to let folks who want to blog, go for it. But do it in a way where you get the right sources if you are getting info from folks. Try going to the people who are in charge and if you can't get to them, maybe source out the story better?

If you make a mistake own up to it. Your credibility will be better for it.

Mets: Dark Knight Returns?

*pic from the NYPost

Until he has a bad outing and folks complain again. As we near the end of Spring Training, I have really gotten tired of reading and hearing people praise and condemn players on their performances during this "practice" time.

OMG. Look at Duda. He hit a HR. He's back! Smoke gave up a run... What's wrong with him? The bullpen is horrible. Why did the Mets lose to the Marlins 11-7 while the minor leaguers played?

Calm the hell down. We won't know if Harvey is back until later on this season. We won't know pretty much anything until the season is underway for a while. Go chill folks chill.

Jerseys: Trump 45

So this T7LA jersey started a firestorm on twitter.

- Now The7line didn't make this jersey for themselves. They just had it customized as part of their ticket plan holder jerseys that they ordered. Darren tweeted it out in response to a tweet. People are losing their shit over this jersey.

Some people are complaining that Darren had it made up for the seat holder. It's not offensive or obscene( way worse stuff out there). I know not everyone is a fan of Trump but what would the reaction be in reverse if Hillary one and someone had her name put up on a jersey and someone complained about it? "Don't try to censor it. Censorship ain't right." Fine you guys can be upset by the fact someone had Trump on their jersey. It's your right. It's also this guy's right to have his jersey with Trump on it.

Let's see what else is being said.

What would happen if the guy sat in front of you randomly at some other game? What would you do? Get up leave?

The owner of the jersey steps up to take the heat from The7line.

We have someone talking about the hypocrisy that is being tossed around.

Another non fan of Trump that understands people can have differing views and get along.

I don't like your candidate. Well I didn't like your candidate. I can't stomach this written on a jersey.... I'm throwing out my 7line stuff because a fan has Trump in his jersey. What if that dude bought a blank and customized it himself too? Would you still be busting Darren's chops?

Guys just grow up and be civil. We go to baseball games to cheer our team and to hang out with our friends. Not all of us will be buddy buddy. Not all of us will get along. There are people that I don't like and I know people don't like me. But that's the beauty of it. You can still move on and have a good time. Too many folks these days getting offended for little stuff.

Where are you guys when I get offended by Chinese knockoff jerseys made by workers who get paid barely anything and the sales help support crime and terrorism! That's the real outrage about a jersey you folks should be latching on to!!!
