Mets: Cabrera Didn't Wan't a Trade?

Is part of the new training regiment exercise known as backpedalling?

From the NY Post
" I always want to be here,” Cabrera told The Post after the Mets beat the Marlins, 8-0, on Wednesday night at Marlins Park. “This is a great team. In that moment when I said that, I wasn’t saying I want to get traded. I was just saying it didn’t seem like they had a plan for me. … If they’ve got a plan, they should tell me.”

Cabrera is still displeased with the way the situation was handled, when he wasn’t told he’d be switching positions following his return from the disabled list.

When he came back in San Francisco, Cabrera made it clear he thought it was time to leave the Mets.

“If they don’t have a plan for me, I think it’s time to make a move,” Cabrera said on Friday after he was informed of the position switch. “What I saw the last couple of weeks, I don’t think they have any plan for me.”

So how do you really feel? Were you just angry at first? Do you believe like a lot of us fans do that Reyes should be off the field and took this as an affront? I can see where you are coming from Asdrubel, I just might not have don't it as public as you.

MLB Umpire Saves Suicidal Woman's Life

Good to hear something positive happening with this story.

From bleacher report-

Major League Baseball umpire John Tumpane reportedly saved a woman from a railing on the Roberto Clemente Bridge Wednesday afternoon.

It was a chance encounter for the umpire before he headed to PNC Park for Wednesday's contest between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Tampa Bay Rays, but he performed a heroic act and likely saved the woman's life.

Willetts West Stalled Again (Thank God)

Okay Wilpons. Let's get this straight. Malls are dying. People don't want to go there. People want to go to parkland. Want do do something cool for Queens? Make a a deck over the current parking lot which used to house Shea Stadium and build a park on top of it. Folks love parks. Oh and how are those plans coming along for affordable housing?

You are already building stores and malls over on the other side of 126th street. That's all you need.
"Proposed by the Queens Development Group LLC (QDG), the plan was again halted by the New York State Court of Appeals earlier this month after it ruled that the first part of the two-phase plan, the “Willets West” retail development, could not move forward without approval from state legislature.

“At this point, the plan has been denied by the courts, stating that [the developers] cannot go forward with the current plan as shown,” Committee Chairperson Chuck Apelian said."

Darling Calls Out Trainers

Ron Darling had said what a lot of us have been thinking for a while. There is absolutely no way the injuries aren't connected to the training regiments that these "experts" put these players through.

From the NY Daily News
“Get (the trainers) in a room with some of the old trainers and people who took care of baseball players and how to keep them healthy and get them in a room and try to tap into their knowledge on how to train baseball players,” Darling said. “Not weightlifters. Not six-pack wearers. Baseball players.”

Mets: Injured Harvey Hanging Out

Okay, so is there going to be outrage? Is there going to be apathy? Who will be the first to start the tirade on it? Main Street media? Mets twitter? Bloggers?

From the NY Post
Matt Harvey is still enjoying his time off.

The Mets pitcher, who will be out several weeks with a stress injury to the scapula bone, was spotted in the Hamptons this past weekend with locals buzzing that he and a group of his bros rented an estate on Beach Plum Drive in Montauk.

Wedding Backstage at Dead and Company

All I wanna know is, did Metropolitan Hospitality know about this? If, so how much did they try to charge them for the wedding?
If they didn't know...They are going to be maaaaaaaaaaaad if they couldn't monetize it...

This is from the NY Post.

Grateful Dead founding member Bob Weir officiated the nuptials of longtime friend and real-estate investor William “Billy” Procida backstage before Saturday’s Dead & Company show at Citi Field.

“17 years ago I jumped on stage and did an encore with [Weir] and we became great friends,” Procida told Page Six Monday, adding he’s been in with the band ever since.

The ceremony took place in a “VIP room” where the legendary rocker “came in and said a poem and the ‘I do’s,'” another attendee recalled adding, “He said beautiful things.”

I see some folks were asking questions about where do they pick up shirts, caps, etc tomorrow at MCU.

Tomorrow should be a fun night. Game right off the beach, hanging with a good crew of folks, fireworks and two T7LA members throwing out first pitches. If you watch/listen to Orange and Blue Thing, Darren and Brian announced the winner tossing out the pitch from the random drawing.

I am tossing out a pitch because I won it from the Chai Lifeline Charity auction earlier

Game Used: Kingman Hat

Rare game used/worn New York Mets slugger Dave Kingman hat from the 1970s !! You never see anything on Kingman, let alone from his playing days with the Mets!

Cap shows tremendous game use with leather band featuring New Era tagging. Tons of use inside the band with some rips and tears as seen in the pictures. Size tag is missing, the name “KINGMAN” and the number “26” is written in faded black marker under the bill of the cap.

Great game use!

Cap originated from the collection of a major Mets collector.

Brooklyn Cyclones: Superhero Day

On Sunday, July 2nd the Cyclones will wear these Captain America jerseys as we celebrate Marvel Super Hero Day

NWO: New Worst Order

I saw Greg's tweet yesterday and I had to make this photoshop...

Here is the article that got me going....

New Worst Order

The problem when your team has given up double-digit runs in ten different games in a season that is only seventy games old — and five times in a month that still has ten days to go — is keeping track of which of those losses is the worst. It’s tough, I suppose, to top (or bottom) the 23-5 farce at the hands of the Nationals from April 30, the one that featured three Anthony Rendon home runs, Kevin Plawecki’s pitching debut and Noah Syndergaard’s probable 2017 farewell. The lightning-quick burial of Tommy Milone by the Angels in a 12-5 romp on May 21 also springs to mind. Oh, and what about the Mother’s Day Massacre in Milwaukee, wherein a 7-1 midgame Mets lead dissolved into a 11-9 loss to the Brewers? Personally, I retain a sore spot for that flaming pile of baseball.

Read the rest here....

Terry Collins: Twitter Doesn't Pay My Salary

Thanks to @shmantzMets for the video

Hey Colactus, I don't know if you realize this or not but a lot of the folks on twitter that "don't pay your salary" actually do. Who do you think buys tickets to the games or watch the games on TV that the Mets owners get the money from the TV rights that helps pay your salary? So, yeah twitter folks do kinda help pay your salary. Do I think a lot of the things said on twitter about the Mets is off the wall? Sure do, but, and there is a big but here. Terry you have to realize that twitter is part of the fanbase and there are plenty of
fans who are over you being the manager..

Mets: Mercury Mets Pregame Video

I just fell down the Mercury Mets rabbit hole last night. I haven't seen these videos in a while.

I can't believe that the Mets Org used to like to have "fun" doing stuff like this. Silly Silly fun. Silly cheesy fun...

Mets: Mercury Mets Ad

I am just going to leave this right here folks.

Mets: Wow

I didn't get to see that game last night but wow. This is getting down right pathetic. I know a lot of it has to do with injuries and depth on the bench etc etc. When as an organization do you throw in the towel and try to make some moves to revitalize the team and start trying to salvage the season so you aren't a laughing stock?

Barwis and this training staff needs to be evaluated and figure out why so many players are hurt with muscle strains and tears. The medical staff seems to take a brunt of the blame when the players are returned to action too early and then hurt again. Who really makes the call?

Start figuring out who is going to be here next year and start moving pieces that will help you get some players or something in return then just a draft pick. Figure out the manager and coaching staff for next year. See what's going on with Gsellman. Something is off.

Bring up Rosario. Cut bait with Reyes. Stop with the " Well what if Rosario does bad?" routine? Well guess you'd find out what kind of mettle he has.

Do something to keep the fans engaged. Do something that shows you care about making this team a playoff contender again next year. Good thing the team is on a west coast swing. Wouldn't want to bring any players you need from Vegas now. Way better to wait until the Mets are back east to do that.
