The title of this post has a double meaning. The first is damn this season is kicking me in the ass repeatedly and it's hurting. I wanted for the Mets to kick ass this season, just didn't want it to be mine. I didn't expect another World Series run, but I was expecting/hoping for a nice playoff run at least. Now that brings me to the other meaning of the post title.
The injuries this season. Ouch! This team seems like every day it's getting flattened by a steam roller. If it isn't Wright's back (everyone but the Mets org saw this coming. This was reason enough to sign Murphy to be a backup plan for David going down), Duda's back. Might as well tell him see him in the spring. Cabrera, a bright spot on the team had a recurring injury, Cespedes (fooooooooorrrrrreeeee), Harvey growing an extra rib, Matz with more Spurs in his elbow then in the old west, Syndergaard pitching through the same thing, etc, etc.
So yeah. Ouch. I am not giving up on the Mets. I love going to games. I renewed my seats for next year. I love going to games with my friends in The 7 Line Army. I am not throwing in the towel. I am going to enjoy the rest of the season, whatever it may bring.
Let's Go Mets. Try to finish strong and build on the rest of this season for next season. Who knows, they might still get hot and grab the 2nd wild card. Stranger Things have happened.
