Fans Flip Flop on Harvey

You guys boo him at his last start which was a loss and now you cheer him like you never booed.

I hate the booing Mets players. You guys know this. Now you are cheering because he has a good game. So what is it folks? Is it happy Harvey day?(Btw, I hate that marketing slogan too.) Or is it going to be time to have his head on a pike and that he should get sent to the minors if he has another bad game?

I know I'm going to hear that you pay to see the players play and can boo if you want. Players slump. Players aren't always going to play up to their potential but sometimes it just happens for whatever reason and not due to lack of trying.

So, I guess it's cool to like Harvey again.

OH MY GAWD..THAT MAN HAS A FAMILY... Mr. Met Meets an Ump.

I had this great idea last night that I would love to see this. After all the bad call by the Umps during the last few games, Mr Met finally had enough and took one out. Turns out, Mr Met was Brian Myers (formerly Curt Hawkins) all along. (W)Righting all wrongs that were laid down by the MLB against the Mets...

Memorial Day

Hey guys. I am planning on not blogging today and just relaxing. I just want to take a moment to say this. Let's take the time to remember all of those who have given their lives to protect this country that we live in. Let us also remember all the family members that have lost a special someone during times of war. Thank you to all that have made the ultimate sacrifice to keep the rest of us safe and to give us a shot to keep trying to make this country live up to the ideals that we all want.

Mets Make Crappy Game into a Good Night for Young Fan

This is a great story to hear. Even with such a crappy night for players to make a young fan happy by taken 5 mins to sign makes a fan for life.

From a buddy's Facebook page-

Last night I took Shea to her first game of the season and as much of a disaster the game itself was it was such a fun night. After the game Shea likes to try and get autographs from the players and last night was no different. Terry Collins was in a bad mood but stopped just for her. So we were walking back to our car and we saw another player coming out so Shea asked if we could wait a minute. As the car pulled out of the lot it was none other than her favorite play the Captain David Wright. He saw she was the only only kid and he stopped for her and signed a ball and took a picture with her. To see her face light up was priceless.
Thank you D-wright for stopping and making a little girls night!!

Mets 1986 Giveaway Jersey on eBay

Hmmm...$50 for a cheaply made give away or buy a real "replica" cool base for around a 100....It's a great giveaway if you got it free, but I wouldn't pay that much for something of that quality.
YOU ARE BIDDING ON A NY METS FRIDAY NIGHT JERSEY SGA 1986 WORLD SERIES REPLICA JERSEY 30th ANNIVERSARY FROM THE GAME ON MAY 27th, 2016 SPONSORED BY DUNKIN DONUTS SIZE XL THIS IS BRAND NEW PLEASE EMAIL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS AND CHECK OUT MY OTHER ITEMS FROM THE METS GAMES. GOOD LUCK!!!

Ump's Reasoning for Tossing Thor

"The ruling was that he intentionally threw at the batter," crew chief Tom Hallion told a pool reporter. "We can either warn or eject. And with what happened in that situation, we felt the ejection was warranted." Hallion said no warnings were issued before the series. "We take each game individually," he said when asked if last year's playoff series played a role in the ejection. "We have to make a snap decision. We can't think about, OK, well this guy did this or he did that in Game 6 of whatever. We don't have enough time to think that way. We make a decision on what happens in the game."''' That really doesn't make any sense to me then. You know what is going on. You have read the papers having your morning coffee. Don't give me that crap that you don't know what's going on. I haven't seen someone get ejected for something like that, as fast as that, for no reason. I hope they don't spend Syndergaard, I can see it happening though. But, he'll end up having to serve it unlike Utley. Read more here from ABCNEWS

I Hate Sports Talk Callers

I am sitting on set right now(3:30am Saturday ) and I have WFAN on. It finally hit me. I realized once again why I hate sports talk radio. The callers. 90% of these guys have no clue what they are talking about and it kills me. My brain turns to JEll-O listening to these guys who should not have access to a radio least of all a phone to make calls.

Blah blah blah I'm going to hang up so I can listen to your answer. No. You are hanging up to hear your own voice on the radio. The radio host will talk about a point less then five minutes before and the Caller will ask a question that the host already answered.

I really don't know what aggravated me more. Know it alls on Twitter or know it all sports radio callers.

Harlem RBI Program

I was parked on set today and saw a baseball field on 100th street between 1st and 2nd and got very interested in this. This looks like a great program.

Mission and Dreamlist MISSION: To provide inner-city youth with opportunities to Play, Learn and Grow. Field of Dreams In 1991, a group of volunteers transformed an abandoned, garbage-strewn lot into two baseball diamonds for the youth of East Harlem. The park became a hub of neighborhood activity, connecting children, families and volunteers through the power of team participation. In 2002, a proposed condominium development on the lot threatened the future the organization, but Harlem RBI reached an agreement with the City of New York and received a long-term license to rebuild and maintain Harlem RBI’s Field of Dreams. On April 16, 2005, Harlem RBI brought children, families, politicians and supporters together to celebrate the re-opening of the Harlem RBI Field of Dreams. The ball field now has a variety of features including an irrigation system, brick dugouts, a batting cage, a walk of fame listing supporters of the project, and the Success Garden, where Harlem RBI graduates are commemorated. Stop by and watch a game! DREAM Charter School In 2008, Harlem RBI responded to the need for better access to education within the community and opened DREAM Charter School. DREAM is East Harlem's community-based public charter school, where every child can and will achieve. DREAM's mission is to prepare students for high-performing high schools, colleges and beyond through a rigorous academic program that develops critical thinkers who demonstrate a love of learning, strong character, and a commitment to wellness and active citizenship. Matt Harvey "Dent" and the Media

I have a few different thoughts bouncing around my head right now with all this Matt Harvey stuff happening in the news.

Blowing off the media after the game.

Matt. You wanted to be a media darling. You wanted to be in the spotlight when you aren't on the field. You wanted to be a celebrity since you got called up to the big leagues. You are the "NY bureau chief" for the Player's Tribune. You can not blow off the media because you are having a tough time pitching right now. You have to take the good with the bad. You wanted to be "the guy", so be the guy. Am I glad you took the mound to try to get whatever is wrong with your pitching corrected? Yep. That shows you want to battle through it. Part of being the "Dark Knight of Flushing" and having "Happy Harvey Days" and wanting to be the guy is dealing with the media that you are happy to talk to when things are going well.

That being said, I don't care what is bothering him and talking to the media after the game isn't going to fix it. I rarely ever listen to post game interviews or press conferences. These things are getting out of hand too. I remember when the presser was just for after a playoff game or something historic would happen during a game. I am getting tired of too much coverage with the players managers. It's basically the same thing said over and over and over.

I'm going to finish with this. Matt. You want to the bat signal(spotlight) on you then deal with it when it's both good or bad. Stop giving these main stream media guys more fuel to add to the fire under you.
