I know, you guys are going to say I complained about his hustle and about his fielding and about his baseball IQ in general and now I am complaining that he is diving into the stands.
Why would you dive into the crowd in a game in April? This where Cespedes doesn't do the right thing. You guys can get on my case all you want but what if the $25 million gets hurt in April for a foul ball that wasn't caught. If this was Game 7 of the World Series where every out counts then yeah, go all out. In my opinion it's not a wise move to do something like that at this point in the season. At least if he gets hurt in the post season you don't have over a 150 games to go in the season where the lack of your presence is going to hurt the team.
This kind of stuff adds up with the dropped ball in the outfield for not using two hands or last post season when Yo messed up and there was that in the park home run. I want smart hustling from Cespedes. I want him to do well, not get hurt, and help the Mets win the World Series this year.
Cespedes really reminds me of a less talented Manny Ramirez. You know Manny being Manny? Well I guess we have, YO being YO.
